Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalogue, click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Order" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

Payment types accepted

We accept Visa (including Electron), Mastercard, Delta, Switch, PayPal and JCB cards. (PayPal do not allow the purchase of items with variable weights ie. meat and fish where weights may vary and price by kg is charged. Because of this we do not offer a payment by PayPal option for orders which include frozen fish and meat.)

UK, Europe and beyond

We deliver within the European Union. Orders from outside the European Union may be possible. Please email us if you would like to know if we can deliver to your region or country.

Privacy Policy

We know that when you shop online, you want to know that your name, address, credit card details and any other information you give us is kept safe and secure, and we promise to do that. We do not give any of the data you give us to any third party. All credit card information is encrypted and even our staff cannot see all the details.

This includes special delivery instructions and dietary requirements if applicable. This information may also be used as a basis for sending you information we think will interest you. Should you wish not to be included in this please tick the opt-out box at the point of ordering. However we need the information on file to service you as a customer. If our records of your name, address, telephone number or any other special information are in any way inaccurate please let us know as we want to maintain up to date records.

Vouchers

With so many special offers, discounts and promotions on the go, GoodnessDirect frequently issue voucher codes to help make your healthy shopping even better value. Sometimes these are vouchers giving a special deal of specific products and others are "off order" discounts. However we regret to say that no matter how many voucher codes you have collected our system will only accept one code per order. This may be a product code or an order code. Please enter your selected voucher code at the relevant point during the order process.

By submitting a review to our site you are agreeing to our use of it on our website under the following conditions:

Reviews and Content Guidelines

You agree to post reviews and contributions in accordance with the following Guidelines.

  • Reviews should not contain words, language or content that is or may be considered unlawful, defamatory, libellous, abusive, racially or sexually offensive or obscene.

  • Due to the nature of our products, ingredients often are altered by suppliers to improve texture and taste. Therefore we can only except reviews of products brought from us in the last 3 months. Older reviews may no longer be a true reflection of the current product.

Product Information

Product information, dietary flags, photographs, and pack sizes are all for illustrative purposes and general advice. Though we believe them to be correct they cannot be guaranteed. From time to time recipes, packaging, dietary classifications and ingredients vary and change and we may not always be as up to date as we would like to be, so please always check the details on the packaging before using. This is especially important if there is a possibility of an allergic reaction.

Please contact the manufacturer of the goods, or your own doctor directly if you have any doubts concerning the nature of product ingredients or if you suspect that you may be allergic to the ingredients. Please note that we store nuts on our premises along with all other products, we do not have a special nut free zone.

Delivery Schedule

We deliver your order as soon as we can. Orders received before 11:00 will normally be sent to you in one or two business days by parcel carrier or Royal Mail. (UK mainland only)

Delivery Limitations

We regret that we cannot send temperature controlled goods over seas or to some more remote UK locations.

Our UK deliveries are sent with a carrier on a "before close of work" basis which means that your order should generally arrive with you before 5.30pm on the day we have indicated. We cannot guarantee or specify a time of day.

Delivery Options

Delivery options and any costs are calculated dynamically as you place your order and are displayed on the "my basket" or checkout page. We do our best to deliver to you free of charge but for certain orders, especially if they are heavy, this is not possible. More detail and the delivery cost breakdown are given below.

There is an option to select 'Collect from GoodnessDirect' which means that you do not have to pay for delivery and have the option for those more local, to collect the parcel by person from our warehouse in Daventry.

UK Mainland (excluding certain areas)

Free delivery for orders over £35 (online) or £45 (over the phone) weighing less the 25kg. Orders below these values carry a delivery charge according to the delivery method selected.

Light orders where all items can be posted (indicated by the green 'free delivery' icon) and over £4 are delivered for free. Items are selected at our discretion and only selected items carrying the logo are included in this service.

Heavy orders (over 25 kg) may incur a surcharge of £5.50 (per 25 kg).

Chilled and Frozen products require special packaging and are subject to a £3.50 packing charge per section. This surcharge is dropped if the order value is over £75.

*Orders going to postcodes: G, FK, FY, PA, PH, DD, AB, IV, KW, KY, BT, KW, ZE, IM, GY, JE, TR, HS, will experience an increase surcharge from our courier. The total will be shown at the point of checkout and there is no obligation to continue with the purchase even at this stage. Orders over £35 will still receive a £5.50 discount off the cost of delivery.

The Scottish Highlands and outside UK Mainland

We have to make a delivery charge for orders to the Scottish Highlands and outside the UK mainland. The value of this charge can be seen at the checkout stage by entering your address (remember to select the correct country from the drop down menu) and the goods you would like, the screen will indicate the delivery costs. There is no obligation to purchase even at this stage.

Please note that orders going to these postcodes are unfortunately unable to have temperature controlled parcels delivered:
G63, HS1-9, IV3-11, 14-28, 40-49, 51 -56, 63, KA27-28, KW 1-17, PA20-50, 60-78, 80- 88, PH30-44, 49, 50, ZE1-3

Minimum Quantities and Packing Charges

Orders for Chilled and Frozen goods have to reach a minimum level or they do not maintain their temperature during delivery. These minimum levels are: Chilled 6 items, Frozen 6 items. There is also a packing charge of £3.50 per box for the special insulated chilled and frozen boxes.

Out of Stocks

If the product you wish to order does not have an "Add to basket" button then the item is out of stock at the time of browsing. Information is updated regularly so please look again or email us.

Occasionally the site will let you order a product but it may be not available when we pick your order. If this should happen, we will process the remaining items so that we get your order to you as soon as possible. If you want us to hold your order if specific items are not in stock please tell us when you place the order. Free delivery only applies if the value of available goods exceeds £35 for online orders and £45 for mail order/e-mail and phone orders.

VAT

All prices shown are inclusive of VAT where applicable. The VAT exclusive price is shown separately for the benefit of overseas customers for whom VAT does not apply.

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using SSL encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

If you do not want to give credit card details over the internet choose the "credit card sent separately" option at the checkout/payment screen. Then just phone us with your order number and card details (0871 8716611, calls charged at 10p per minute). All card details which are posted or faxed to us are shredded immediately after checking.

Guarantee, Returns and Order Cancellation

We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come with a 30 day no quibble guarantee.

You may cancel your order up to 7 days after receiving the goods. If you wish to cancel before we have dispatched the goods then please call us on 0871 871 6611 (calls charged at 10p per minute) or email cancel@GoodnessDirect.co.uk

If you wish to cancel after we have despatched the goods then please call us on 0871 871 6611 (calls charged at 10p per minute) or email returns@GoodnessDirect.co.uk to arrange a return. In this instance, the charge made to you will be refunded on return of the goods. If the return is for reasons other than faulty / incorrect goods then we will need to ask you to cover the cost of returning the goods to us.

Frozen and chilled goods cannot be returned.

If your order is damaged on arrival please sign for it as damaged. If there is interior damage please take a digital photograph and email it to claims@GoodnessDirect.co.uk along with the consignment number of your parcel so that we, in turn, can validate the claim for the damage from our courier.

Environmentally Friendly Packaging

We try to maintain high environmental standards with our packaging and use biodegradable or recyclable materials wherever possible. Obviously when sending products by mail it is very important to package them adequately to reduce the risk of breakage. We use triple walled cardboard boxes which are totally recyclable and fill these with biodegradable air pouches which you can easily puncture and either recycle or compost.

Chilled and frozen food orders are packed in special thermal cardboard insulated boxes that are 96% biodegradable. However in warmer weather polystyrene boxes are used to ensure that your good get to you in good condition.
