Food for Life Catering

The Food for Life Catering Mark is a guarantee from the Soil Association that a catering product carries sound organic credentials. Where you see the Catering mark you can be sure that all of the issues that matter to people looking for organic foods have been taken care of: healthiness, climate change and animal welfare. The bronze, silver and gold tiers reward caterers who use more fresh, seasonal, free range, healthy and organic ingredients. More details at www.sacert.org/catering

Daventry –based GoodnessDirect has made a commitment to help caterers provide meals that are healthy, environmentally friendly and support animal welfare by joining the Food for Life Catering Mark Supplier Scheme.

The Catering Mark Supplier Scheme, launched in December 2012 is the UK’s fastest growing best-practice scheme, bringing together food producers / ingredient suppliers / wholesalers / distributors such as GoodnessDirect with caterers achieving the Food for Life Catering Mark.

More than 600,000 meals that meet the Catering Mark standards are served in the UK every day. Initially launched into schools to address the issues highlighted by Jamie Oliver's school food campaign, Catering Mark accreditation has expanded into hospitals, universities, nurseries and workplaces.

The growth of the Catering Mark has led to increasing demand for food producers / ingredient suppliers / wholesalers / distributors such as GoodnessDirect which can supply organic wholefoods.
