The vegan food with a cheesy, nutty taste made from primary inactive yeast without additives or preservatives. Rich in B vitamins and now with Zinc and B12 (cyanocobalamin). Engevita Yeast provides one of the richest natural sources of the B-group vitamins and trace elements. Engevita is a purely natural food, a primary strain of Saccharomyces Cerevasiae, grown on enriched purified molasses under carefully controlled conditions. This ensures freedom from candida albicans yeast.

Engevita is such a pleasant tasting yeast that it can be consumed as it is. It is also readily dissolved in water, milk, fruit or vegetable juices and can be sprinkled on soups, stews, casseroles, salads and breakfast cereals to enhance the flavour.

Dairy Free Cheese Sauce Take about 1 Tablespoon flour 2 tablespoons Engevita Nutritional Yeast 1/4 teaspoon salt, and 1/2 cup soyamilk. Mix all the ingredients together and heat gently on the stove top or microwave, stirring constantly until it thickens.

This is such a fantastic ingredient. Vital for nut cheese recipes and is also great sprinkled on pasta dishes like a parmesan.

Doesn't have as much of a cheesy flavour compared to the Marigold original nutritional yeast, but the added B12 makes up for that. I prefer using NY to using the MSG laden vegan cheeses.

Love it! Cannot rate it enough. 1 tablespoon provides enough B12 for an adult and half a tablespoon for a child daily. My 6 year old does not mind it one bit and we sprinkle it over dinner every night. About to order 3 more boxes as ran out.

I love this stuff, put it in or on all kinds of dishes - really good on broccoli, potato, and cheddar soup. I wouldn't describe it as 'cheesy' as others do, more of a nutty-savoury flavour - a bit like a less concentrated Marmite without the salt. I have improvised a quick 'cheeze' with it that I was pleased with though: grind cashews with nutritional yeast and sea salt, add lemon juice until it just comes together. I crumbled it over a homemade veggie pizza before baking, and it came out delicious - nice change from regular cheese :)

No vegan cupboard is complete without this. It is absolutely delicious: we mostly use it sprinkled on pasta or soup, or mixed in with mashed potatoes etc. Very healthy as well, 50% protein and with added B12 is even better.

These look a little odd but add so much flavour to many recipes. I like using them to make kale chips, adding the flakes alongside tamari, olive oil and black pepper to the kale before cooking.

I have been buying this for years and love it. I add some to at least one meal each day. Has a nice 'cheesy' taste and is great in pretty much any of my savoury meals. Mixed in with avocado, or pesto, or soup, salad, tomato-based dishes, all sorts. A vegan essential :-)

It is imperative for vegans to take B12 seriously. There are very few vegan food sources and if you don't eat stuff like this, or other fortified products then you run serious risk of irreversible, long term damage to your brain and nervous system. It is not a vitamin that can be ignored.

As a new vegan I had read a lot about nutritional yeast and was very excited to finally try some (especially since its meant to be like cheese). I can confirm it really is worth the hype and makes the perfect addition to salads, lasagnes, pastas - pretty much everything. Even my fussy eater mum who is very much a meat and dairy fan thought it was delicious so that is high praise indeed!

I was dubious of the taste at first but for no reason, it tastes splendid! I put it in everything, smoothies, salads, pastas! It melts and creates a gooey consistency in pasta which is fabulous. Buy this, worth every penny.

At first I was sceptical about the cheesy/nutty flavour other reviewers had claimed but I have to agree with them and it is absolutely delicious! They can be used in a variety of recipes, the latest as a topping for vegan black bean burritos. They also favour well with me as they contain a variety of important vitamins and minerals, including B12.

Really pleasant, mildly-nutty-cheesy flavoured flakes, with the added bonus of containing vitamin B12 - I can stop buying the B12 supplements now, I've started using this stuff on a regular basis! I thought 125g was going to be a very small container, and I did worry that it was rather expensive for such a small amount. However, it turned out to be large - the yeast flakes weigh so very little.

Really easy to add to a variety of dishes or -if you have strange eating habits like me -just eat as it is. I have found there to be quite a variation between batches though the texture seems to vary quite a bit.

We originally bought a tub of this as a vegan cat food flavouring, as the B vitamins are good for cats. However, it didn't go down very well, but we tried some and certainly liked it! Seems to go with just about everything really, I've just dropped some on my rice dish now!
I'd say it was a good store cupboard item for any flourishing vegan.

This is a great product, I used to just buy the yeast flakes with no b12 but as my family prefer me preparing vegan food I think it's important to include products that have b12 in them. This fits the bill as I use it so much in my cooking.

I can't recommend nutritional yeast highly enough for providing me with some extra, much-needed energy! You can use this as a cheese alternative in pasta sauces, etc, but I love the taste so much I eat this by the spoonful throughout the day whenever I'm feeling tired or peckish.

I was a little unsure about using these initially as I find the strong smell overwhelming but they are great for using in sauces and casseroles to give a rich and full taste. I don't particularly like the taste of them on their own but they are a brilliant seasoning when cooking! For those who don't like the smell, don't worry, they just add a great depth of flavour.

Ever since I first discovered this I have been and continue to be impressed and have used it since regularly. I and my family use this as a food topping because it adds not only a nice taste but texture too and can sauces thicker and as described, more 'cheesy' though I don't really notice that myself unless using a lot of it and expressly for a 'cheesy' recipe. As a vegan, I personally take this for the B vitamins which are hard to get in other foods. So not only is it tasty but healthy too and can be had over and over without getting tired of it.

Love it! It has a mild cheesy-ish taste and dissolves very well in liquids which makes it so versatile. I use it mainly in miso soups and salad dressings, but as the other review pointed out, the variety of uses is virtually unlimited.
