More about Natural Cool Organic Blueberries

Blueberries are so nutritious, how great to have them available all year round.

Blueberries are cram packed with Vitamin C and vitamin E, they are an excellant source of Anthocyanins while also being abundant with dietary fibre and manganese. Plus they are only around 80 calories in a whole cup - brilliant.

Cooking Instructions

To defrost the blueberries just pour as many as you need into a shallow container. Pour over just enough boiling or hot water to cover the blueberries. They take about 5 minutes to defrost and of course, are already washed because of the water. Then drain them and use in your favourite recipes.

Other Information

Bilberries are the European species of the American Blueberry, and are believed to be higher in vitamin C and Vitamin E then the usual cultivated blueberries.

It's hard to find fresh Wild Blueberries aka Bilberries and to be honest it's much more convenient to have some in the freezer ready for smoothies. These came very quickly and for a reasonable price. They also taste great so very happy all round!

Blueberry muffins.... - Thu 5th Jan 2017

I just used these to make gluten free blueberry muffins and they were delicious. Makes 12 muffins: 2 eggs 4 tbsp any oil you like (I used cocunut oil melted) 3 or 4 tsp baking powder (gluten free) 3/4 tsp salt 2 cups rice flour (subsitute half a cup of rice flour for almond flour for more fluffiness) 1 cup of these blueberries (i used straught from freezer) 1 or 2 vanilla pods (I used ndali vanilla powder 3/4 tsp) 1 tsp lemon or lime zest optional combine wet and dry ingredients and pop into oven for 15 to 20 mins on gas mark 7.

organic blueberries - Sat 2nd Jul 2016

Really pleased with the quality of these berries - very intense flavour which is great for smoothies helping to mask strong vegetables. I mix with the same proportion of the mixed berries as the blueberries on their own are less sweet.

Antioxidants - Thu 23rd Jun 2016

So high in antioxidants it's silly. And all without any pesticides. Win-win. Heat gently in a pan with a tiny bit of water to make a kind of jam. Add to soya yoghurt with a little brown muscovado sugar for a delicious treat

blueberries - Sat 4th Jun 2016

Amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!! these are so juicy and best off all they are bilberries which are soooo much healthier !!!!!!!!!!!

Small but lovely - Tue 31st May 2016

These blueberries are small, but they are really delicious and 300g went further than I had expected. We mixed these into porridge whilst still frozen, and this worked better than trying to defrost them (they go slightly soggy).

yummy little gems - Tue 16th Feb 2016

Love this product. I love organic blueberries but they are normally quite expensive when bought fresh, so this is the perfect solution plus it is great addition to smoothies!

- Wed 10th Feb 2016

Because these are the wild variety they are much smaller than standard blueberries, therefore have a greater skin to flesh ratio and so have more pigment and antioxidant goodness! Not super sweet but will definitely purchase again!

Yum! - Thu 7th Jan 2016

Very fresh and tasty product! Will get again!

- Fri 11th Dec 2015

These freshly preserved so they keep their taste and crispness so not only are they great for cake baking they are also great for jam and tart making - raw cheesecake is a particularly use for them!

- Thu 7th Nov 2013

Rich in anthocyanins which can help protect our bodies from cardiovascular disease, cancer and Alzheimers. Throw some in your morning porridge and heat through for a sweet and healthy winter warmer.

vitality of our body - Tue 8th Oct 2013

I like this procedure, through a careful shock-freezing process all the important ingredients are preserved, above all the vitamins and secondary plant nutritional agents. The consumption of‚ Natural Cool‚¯ fruit is a healthy pleasure.

- Mon 28th Jan 2013

These contribute to the breakfast muffins that my sister so likes to make the I so like to eat.

- Tue 10th Jul 2012

Blueberries - Wed 4th Jul 2012

Good but small, still very tasty and good value!

- Wed 4th Jan 2012

It's great having a bag of these frozen blueberries in the freezer for when we run out of home-grown ones from the garden. We use them in muffins and they work fine. They are also frozen in such a way that they do not stick together, which is very handy. They're not the largest or sweetest blueberries in the world, but perfectly good for baking.

- Thu 14th Jul 2011

Freezing is the least harmful way to preserve foods, so it is great to find all these lovely berries in the freezer, they are tasty and very handy.

Blueberries - Thu 25th Mar 2010

Hi, I thought it would be a good idea to get some blueberries ... they are so highly recommended! I planned a pear crumble (it had to be large as we are 6 and we invited 3 more to tea). The pears didn't quite fill the dish and so I thought of the blueberries in my freezer bought from Goodness Direct, very handy.
I am not sure if adding sugar still makes blueberries good for you, topped with cream and or custard, but it was met with great approval and the whole lot finished!
I definitely recommend blueberries and pear crumble ... I have placed an order for more blueberries!
