Good quality seeds that make lovely tahini or for all sorts of savoury and sweet dishes. Good price for the quantity.

Nutty - Sun 9th Feb 2014

Despite their unassuming size, sesame seeds pack a punch flavour wise. Best when toasted slightly they impart a delicious nuttiness to both savoury and sweet foods. Perfect ingredient for oriental dishes. I like to use sesame seeds with tofu dishes in particular as they add lots of flavour to bland tofu. Also lovely toasted in noodle based salads and stir fries. I also regularly make little wholemeal sesame seed biscuits, which are so nutty and tasty that they disappear almost immediately!

Sesame Seeds - Sat 19th May 2012

Perfect quality seeds. I have then with brown linseed, blue poppy seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and different dried fruit such as cranberries, mango, strawberry, apricot or banana in homemade granola based on oats, flaked almonds and desiccated coconut that is brought together by honey.

Sesame Greens - Thu 6th Oct 2011

Heat 2 tsp toasted sesame oil in a large saucepan, add 1 head of shredded spring greens, cover and cook over a low heat until tender. Season to taste with salt and pepper and stir in 2 tbsp toasted sesame seeds. Serve immediately.

Tips

delicious - Fri 15th May 2015

I use these to make sesame snaps, using only sesames and honey. Fry the seeds gently, add just enough honey to coat, cook until before it starts to caramelise. Spoon out onto greeseproof paper and roll out and cut intosquares before it sets and solidifies. Store in fridge.
The hulled variety in my opinion are healthier as the anti nutrients are in the shell.

Try ... - Thu 17th May 2012

Try roasting an aubergine in the oven until well browned, then peeling and blending with a crushed clove of garlic, a spoonful of sesame seeds, a dollop of natural yogurt and lemon juice. Serve on lightly toasted multi-seed bread for a starter or snack.
