Rich raw caramel sauce - Tue 5th Jan 2016

For an ultra decadent raw dessert topping, pre-soak these with some medjool dates then blend or process into a sauce with ground vanilla powder and/or unroasted carob powder. For added fruitiness, grate in some citrus zest. Serve over banana icecream or as a final topping for raw cakes and puddings or simply enliven a fruit salad. Rich caramel goodness!

Fruit Cake Balls - Sat 30th Nov 2013

6 oz chopped dates.

6 oz chopped apricots.

2 oz ground cashews.

1 oz of sunflower seeds or any nut of your choice, chopped.

1 tablespoon of maple syrup.

1-2 teaspoons of mixed spice powder.

Desiccated coconut, enough to roll the balls in to form a coating.

Use a food processor, add all the ingredients and process until thoroughly mixed.

Form into small balls and roll in the desiccated coconut.

I like to put them in the fridge to set before using. They will keep for a couple of days if stored correctly.

Personally I love the dark brown colour of these, which complements the chewy caramel deliciousness. I have been unable to restrain myself from snacking on the from the packet. Not as sugary as figs and dates, makes a nice change.

These apricots are of a good quality and texture mostly soft/moist rather than too dry and chewy which I have found with other brands. Would recommend.

Great to be able to buy unsulphured apricots, which are mostly lovely and soft (although you do get the odd drier one). A bit cheaper than alternative makes of this too.

Really tasty dried apricots. My children loved them. Soaked overnight, then boiled in the soaking juice and served warm with Greek Yogurt - makes a delicious, healthy breakfast.
