More about Eat Goodness Organic Quinoa,

Quinoa is not really a cereal at all, but it is an edible seed from chenopodium, a grain like crop which has these nutritious seeds. Quinoa can be used as the carb part of any meal using it where you would use rice, pasta, potatoes or couscous. Quinoa is often referred to as nutritious because it is rich in amino acids and of course quinoa is so simple to prepare and tastes so fluffy and creamy with a slightly crunchy texture. You'll just have to try it to know what I mean.

Serving Suggestion

Use as a side dish, in salads, to make veg croquettes and for stuffing vegetables etc.

Cooking Instructions

Rinse and strain. Place in a pan of water, bring to the boil , add salt if you need it, although you find it tastes great without, and simmer for 10-15 mins.Turn off the heat and let it rest for 5-6 minutes. When cooked the grain releases its white germ.

Ingredients

Just organic quinoa grain

Recipes

Quinoa Porridge - Sat 16th Nov 2013

1 cup of Quinoa.

1 cup of water.

1 cup of milk, I like to use nut or rice milk.

Pinch of salt.

Rinse the Quinoa and add to a pot with the liquid and salt, cover and simmer for about 20 minutes. When the water is fully absorbed it should have a light, fluffy texture.

Eat it as it is or add a sweetener of your choice along with some extra milk.

Quinoa is great for the kidneys, especially for us living in the UK due to the damp climate. It is rich in minerals and protein and is known for it's ability to aid in the removal of arterial plaque. A great food for the heart.

Favourite Quinoa - Fri 18th Aug 2017

This is one of my favourite quinoa brands as it is soft and fluffly. I have found that some of the brands are not as soft and I don't enjoy it as much as this one.

Cupboard Staple - Fri 7th Jul 2017

I always come back to this, it is my favorite Quinoa and good value too.

- Fri 17th Feb 2017

I love this organic quinoa - I use it in salads for my work-day lunches and to make hearty soups which remind me of a wonderful trip to Peru, where it's grown.

Cous cous alternative - Sun 19th Apr 2015

I use this as a cous cous alternative, but it's also decent for other grain substituting but not to everyone's taste.

- Sat 11th Apr 2015

Fantastic food! Full of protein, great in salads

quinoa - Sat 13th Dec 2014

Quinoa is a wonderfully versatile seed with excellent nutritional value. It has a rich taste and needs only a short cooking time of 10-15 mins and can then be eaten warm or cold. I love it mixed with finely chopped and sauteed vegetables such as onion, peppers, mushrooms and courgettes. Any leftovers are ideal for lunch with a mixed salad. It can also be used in sweet dishes e.g. with raisins and stewed fruits as a breakfast.

Very nice quinoa. Good flavour and texture.

Very good product but unpractical - Tue 18th Mar 2014

The quinoa is good but the way it is packaged is unpractical.

- Tue 20th Aug 2013

This is nice quinoa and good value for money.

- Tue 2nd Jul 2013

You can use this like rice, apparently it's extremely nutritious and certainly is very quick to cook. Has become a staple in my house.

This is really delicious quinoa, lovely texture and great for salads.

- Wed 6th Mar 2013

Good price considering other brands on market

- Thu 15th Nov 2012

A very versatile ingredient, my favourite is to use this to make sushi mixing it in with the rice. Also very good as a more nutritious replacement to couscous

Protein Packed - Wed 19th Sep 2012

Lovely grain, very light and almost nutty.

Super easy to prepare.

Being one of the few sources of complete protein - bar soya - available in plant form, quinoa represents an excellent addition to vegetarian and vegan diets in particular.

Use it as a base for salads, in veggie patties, as a grain side dish with simple steamed vegetables or anywhere coucous or bulgar wheat are called for.

Swap couscous for quinoa - Tue 11th Sep 2012

Swap couscous for quinoa and you'll get a lovely nutty surprise. Couscous is often made from refined wheat, making this a healthier option too.

good quality - Fri 17th Aug 2012

Good quality.

Fine quality - Fri 17th Aug 2012

Fine quality; would be great if it is better priced!

- Mon 16th Jul 2012

A little goes an extremely long way! 10g dry makes 50g when cooked. Much more light and fluffy, also less sticky than the supermarket kinds!
Will definitely repurchase this again in the future :)

Quinoa - Fri 27th Apr 2012

I'm new to using quinoa myself at home but have found it easy to use, ridiculously versatile and very filling - a little goes a long way. It can take the place of any grain/rice food in any meal. I love brown rice and couscous but find myself using this instead now! That it's whole-grain is just a plus.

- Thu 2nd Feb 2012

Great as a grain-free alternative used instead of rice or couscous.
I also use it as a substitute for bulgur wheat in tabbouleh.

Excellent value - Thu 2nd Feb 2012

This 1kg pack of quinoa is excellent value for money.
I serve this as a substitute for rice or couscous. It has a nuttier flavour that you have to get used to but it's very good!

Tips

Try... - Mon 18th Jun 2012

Try a salad of cooked chilled quinoa, canned pinto beans, spring onions, pumpkin seeds and fresh coriander. Dress with olive oil and a little mustard.

Cooking tips - Mon 14th Feb 2011

I cook Quinoa as I would rice: 1 part quinoa to 2 parts liquid (I like to use homemade veggie stock; water is great but adds no flavuor), I bring to a simmer and cover for 15 minutes at a reduced heat. As for rinsing, I learned to rinse the quinoa in a mesh strainer until the water no longer foams on the top of the grains. Hope this helps!
