Product Details

Our bodies are unable to produce the essential fatty acids contained in flax seed oil. In order to gain these we must consume this natural substance either as part of the diet or as a supplement. Surveys show that around 80% of the population is deficient in essential fatty acids. Flax seed oil is one of the richest sources of Omega-3 essential fatty acids - providing 57% more the fish oils and containing both alpha-linolenic (an Omega-3 fatty acid) and linoleic acid (an Omega-6 Fatty acid) in generous amounts.

The fatty acids provided by flax seed oil are important for keeping many parts of the body healthy. It is particularly associated with keeping the heart healthy, but also helpful for healthy skin, brain and nerves. They are thought to have anti-allergy and anti-inflammatory benefits as well as helping to strengthen the immune system particularly helping recovery of the immune system after intensive exercise.

Recommended Dosage

Dosage: 5-15ml - Higher levels can be used under the guidance of a nutritionally orientated physician.

Serving Suggestion

This highly nutritious oil can be added to fruit or vegetable smoothies, salad dressings, dips, soups or as a condiment drizzled onto vegetables, pasta, rice, potatoes etc... or just taken from the spoon.

Nutritional Information

Approx 40 teaspoons per bottle. Each 5ml teaspoon typically provides: Alpha linolenic acid (omega 3) 2450mg, Linoleic acid (omega 6) 750mg, Oleic acid (omega 9) 770mg.

Cautions

Flax may offer double protection against serious health conditions due to its high concentration of omega 3 fatty acids. Natural blood thinners, omega-3s may prevent dangerous blood clots, which can increase the risk of heart attack and stroke. Keep out of sight and reach of children.

Other Information

Flax oil would appear best taken with other food as research reveals that protein and fats work together, however you cannot cook with it as in liquid form it is very sensitive and is degraded by light, heat and air.
Manufacturers often recommend that the Flax Seed Oil be kept inside its original box, inside the fridge. Store in a cool, dry place.
