I tried this because I really like Bio-D products. Unfortunately, I found that unless I washed my clothes on a hot setting this would leave a whitish film on everything.

I avoid products that use animal-derived ingredients or test on animals. I found the Bio-D washing powder on the Goodness Direct website and was a little hesitant after reading some reviews but, decided to give the product a try anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. I have been washing my laundry with Bio-D Washing Powder at 30 degrees and I am very happy with the cleaning results. The powder cleans easily as well as other common and leading brands, perhaps better, in my opinion. Thankfully, my laundry was not covered in a whitish film, as another reviewer reported. The washing powder (and the Bio-D fabric conditioner) are unscented, which I don't mind. I can easily use a fragranced ironing water if I want my clothes to have a scent.
