Product Details

On a weight for weight basis, spirulina is a rich wholefood source of nutrients with extremely high digestibility. It contains a wide range of vitamins, minerals and trace elements plus antioxidants such as betacarotene, chlorophyll and phycocyanin, together with amino acids and important enzymes.
Spirulina pacifica is a source of iron and vitamin B12, helping to maintain red blood cells, plus GLA and other important fatty acids that contribute to the health of the skin and hair.

Recommended Dosage

Take 15 minitabs (3 grans) daily: intake may be spread throughout the day - in first week try half size serves. A miximum of up to 45 minitabs may be taken on a daily basis. Do not exceed the recomended daily intake.

Spirulina has long been used for energy and endurance as well as many other health benefits such as immunity, eye health and cardiovascular health. New research published in the Journal of the American College of Sports Medicine shows that Spirulina may be the perfect nutrient for athletes and validates its positive effects on energy and endurance. This double blind human clinical study compared treadmill endurance of subjects taking Spirulina versus placebo and found significant improvement in only four weeks of supplementation at 6 grams of Spirulina per day. The researchers concluded: 'We report for the first time that supplementation of Spirulina for 4 weeks increased exercise performance, possibly through an increase in fat oxidation rate and increased glutathione levels.' (Kalafati et al, 2009)
