This traditional herbal cough mixture is based upon a formulation developed way back in the early 1900s by a Welsh pharmacist, and has been a trusted remedy ever since.
Using natural ingredients which have long been regarded to aid the treatment of coughs, colds and bronchitis, the Balsam can also help to relieve the congestion associated with summer colds and hayfever.
The Balsam is suitable for all the family, does not cause drowsiness and is fully approved by the Vegetarian Society.

Allens Pine & Honey Balsam contains active ingredients that are known expectorants. These help loosen persistent tight chesty coughs and other secretions such as those suffered during colds, coughs and bronchitis.

Ingredients

Ipecacuanha liquid extract, liquorice liquid extract, pumilio pine oil, squill oxymel, anise oil, capsicum tincture, chloroform, ethanol, diethyl ether, menthol, arrowroot, peppermint oil, syrup black treacle, purified water.

Cautions

Do not use if you have a kidney or a heart complaint, if sensitive to colophony, any other ingredient, or when pregnant or breast feeding except on doctors advice. Not recommended for children under 5 years. Do not exceed the stated dose.

I have to say this is the best cough mixture that I have ever used and when I have told anyone else about it they are converted. If a cough is keeping me up at night I take it in a little hot water and am guaranteed a cough free restful nights sleep.

I have had a persistant chesty cough for over two weeks. I discovered this in my second week and it really does work....the relief is unbelievable i even told my doctor about it! I truly recommend this product, I am 42 and have used many cough medicines in my time , this is far the best...I hope not to be unwell again too soon but will always use in future and recommend this to all.
