Advice
5 a day - Wed 2nd Jan 2008 Q I love V8 vegetable juice and have two glasses every day. The bottle states that it is made from concentrate, so does it still count as one of the recommended five-a-day portions of fruit or vegetable? ED, Dunbarton
A V8 and fruit juice made from concentrate do count as a portion for your five-a-day - but only one portion, regardless of how many glasses you drink per day. The message with five-a-day is to eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables from many different types and colours. Try to eat a mix of orange, red, green, purple, blue and yellow fruits and vegetables to ensure a range of vitamins, minerals, fibre and phytonutrients.
Remember that fruit-flavoured squashes, which need to be diluted, do not count. Moyra Fraser Reviewer's Name: Moyra Fraser
