Q I love V8 vegetable juice and have two glasses every day. The bottle states that it is made from concentrate, so does it still count as one of the recommended five-a-day portions of fruit or vegetable? ED, Dunbarton

A V8 and fruit juice made from concentrate do count as a portion for your five-a-day - but only one portion, regardless of how many glasses you drink per day. The message with five-a-day is to eat a wide variety of fruits and vegetables from many different types and colours. Try to eat a mix of orange, red, green, purple, blue and yellow fruits and vegetables to ensure a range of vitamins, minerals, fibre and phytonutrients.

Remember that fruit-flavoured squashes, which need to be diluted, do not count. Moyra Fraser

I think you should make it a bit more flavoursome, as I found the taste a little peculiar and the texture was slightly too thick to enjoy.

I actually survive on this product, it is so delicious and I enjoy drinking it. It has a very significant taste which offers a range of vegetables. I have tried many vegetable drinks but this one by far is the most wonderful! It isn't too sweet or too salty and the array of vegetables really compliments the texture. I recommend this to people who are looking for a drink of this variety. V8 have really made a fine product.

This is a good back up if you can't get somewhere to buy/make your own freshly juiced drink, but fresh is always best as vitamins and minerals deteriorate very quickly once juiced.
