Absolutely love this bread. Very tasty and full of flavour. Took one star off as it's quite a small loaf and because I couldn't stop eating the stuff, I got through it in a couple of days!

Sadly I have to stop buying this gorgeous bread. Tasty and satisfying as it is, it"s just too hard for painful arthritic hands to cut and a heavy electric knife is not the answer. If it came sliced I"d award it 5 stars with no hesitation.

Spelt is such a nice grain, and I love the fact that it is all there is in this bread. When it is sprouted it is even better for you.
Many people who are intolerant to wheat find that spelt is fine with them, because it is a more ancient version of wheat and seems to be better adapted to our systems!
My favourite way to enjoy this bread is with a tiny amount of dark tahini and a thin layer of almond or hazelnut butter. No need to sweeten it, it is naturally very sweet, with a lovely chewy texture.

These loaves last forever, they're so dense and richly tasty, almost like a malt-loaf. Especially delicious toasted.

Spelt is a nice variation from just plain wheat. Our favourite for this bread is toasted with peanut butter and raw honey. Packed with goodness!

This is very sticky, similar to a malt loaf only more crumbly. Delicious, but I found it very difficult to cut.

Like all the Everfresh organic sprouted breads, this bread is hardy yet moist and succulent. I personally love these types of bread because unlike many modern soft White and Brown breads, these do not make me feel bloated, and are overall easier on my digestion.

ordered 10 back in feburary, the batch was fresh and the bread was nice and soft.

Just receieved another 10, but its a stale batch, very hard to even cut he bread with a knife, its ok when toasted, but very hard and stale untoasted.

Tips

Texture - Fri 18th Jun 2010
Spelt has a different texture to regular bread whether bought or made, it has a denser texture.

I personally make my own using the old Roman recipe substituting the honey with agave nectar.
