Product Details

Simpkins have been manufacturing traditional confectionery and in Sheffield for nearly 90 years. The 3rd Generation family company now specialises in the manufacture of sugared & Sugar Free confectionery. Simpkins replace the sucrose in conventional chocolage with Maltitol to make this chocolate more suitable for diabetics. Please note if you are diabetic you are better off, as a general rule, avoiding sugary carbohydrates.

Ingredients

Sweetener (maltitol) (49%), cocoa butter (23,5%), milk in powder (16,5%), cocoa paste (10%), emulsifier (soya lecithin) and flavouring (vanillin).

Typical Values per 100g:
Energy 2000kJ/484kcal, Proteins 6g, Carbohydrates 54g, of which sugars 5.2g, polyols 49g, starch 0.8g, Fat 34g, of which saturates 21g, Fibre 3g, Sodium 0.05g.

May contain traces of nuts.

Finally a nice chocolate without any added sugar! Ok, it's a bit too sweet, but I don't mind as we are talking about chocolate here.. :) The only thing is, that excessive consumption can cause a laxative effect, so it's not worth eating more than 2 rows at once..
