Aged and fermented soya beans.

Product Details

Hatcho Miso is the most savoury tasting miso and is suitable for long cooking. It is made from soya beans without a cereal grain, by the ancient process which includes ageing for two years in cedar wood kegs, with a huge pile of rocks on top to create pressure.

Usage

Use as a rich seasoning base for sauces, stews, dressings, spreads, dips and casseroles, and with noodles.

Ingredients

Soya beans 54%, water, sea salt, kosen (roasted barley flour) and koji seed (aspergillus oryzae).

Contains soya and barley.

No artificial additives or preservatives.

After opening store in a cool dry place.
Occasionally white yeasts may form on the miso if it is exposed to air; these are harmless and can be removed by scraping them off.
