Plamil Foods have been making chocolate for over ten years now, but much has changed since those early pioneering days. They have refined and improved the cocoa supply in co-operation with their organic farmers and subtlety improved the methods they use to make their fine chocolate. Plamil Foods now has a wide range of superbly refined chocolates and organic flavours, cocoa percentage content, and Fairtrade cocoa bars for you to choose from.
Plamil Foods source their cocoa from a farming co-operative in the Dominican Republic, and unlike so many brands nowadays, they actually make their own chocolate in their own factory, which never uses dairy/animal, wheat/gluten or nuts. Being the first chocolate manufacturer to be registered in the UK by the Soil Association is only part of the story, Plamil products are also approved by the Vegan and Vegetarian societies.

Not as good as the dark - Sat 8th May 2010
I'd previously tried and loved plamil no added sugar dark chocolate so thought I'd give this a go. I definitely prefer the dark chocolate. I find this chocolate doesn't really have the same melt in your mouth texture and is a bit bland. If you are on a sugar free/dairy free diet and do not like dark chocolate then this probably will appeal to you but I'm going to stick with the dark version.

Very nice but a bit too mild - Fri 17th Jun 2011
Even though milk chocolate is generally my favourite type, I do personally prefer a stronger taste of cocoa then this chocolate provides- I was always more a fan of Galaxy then I was Cadburys etc. I suppose I would have been more satisfied if I had in fact been in the mood for white chocolate! That being said this is still an enjoyable treat to eat and the texture is incredibly creamy and melt-in-your-mouth.

While it's great that Plamil do a sugar free xylitol-sweetened dark chocolate I really prefer milk chocolate so thought I'd give this a try. I have to say I found it a bit weird, they've apparently used soya flour to achieve the dairy free 'milk' effect but I found this made it grainy and bland. Unfortunately ended up throwing some of it away and won't be getting it again!

Not bad, but not good either. It could be better if it had a stronger taste, a little bit feels like eating nothing..
