Advice
- Fri 25th May 2007 On checking the full list of ingredients on a jar of Vecon vegetable stock before buying, I could find no mention at all of sodium or salt and could scarcely believe my luck at finding a seemingly salt-free stock. It was only later, when I checked the "typical nutritional information" small print that I found that Vecon has a HUGE sodium content of 16.5g per 100g. What this means is that a 125g jar contains about 49.5g of salt - almost half of it! I don't have a problem with Vecon selling whatever they want to sell but I DO have a problem with their labelling. This amount of salt should be highlighted in red, capital letters, or whatever it takes to notify people who might otherwise simply enjoy what they think is a salt-free addition to,their diet.
