Organic Blackstrap Molasses, a natural source of calcium and iron
Average Reviews
Customer Reviews Write ReviewProduct Details
Meridian Blackstrap Molasses is extracted during the process of cane sugar production, in which all the beneficial nutrients of the sugar cane are concentrated into the molasses. It is the product of the 'third boil' of the sugar juices. Blackstrap molasses should not be confused with standard molasses which is not so rich in minerals. Blackstrap molasses is particularly rich in calcium and can be an excellent source of calcium for those who restrict their dairy intake.
Serving Suggestion
Blackstrap Molasses is rich in minerals and can be eaten by the spoon, diluted in hot water and taken as a drink or used in cooking. Include in savoury recipes as a marinade or to enhance stews, roasts and casseroles. In baking it can replace some or all of the sugar content and is particularly good in dark, rich cakes.

This is really easy to make, all you need is 8 fl oz mollasses, 3 fl oz balsamic vinegar and some sugar to taste. Mix everything together well and hey presto, soy-flavoured sauce. It keeps well in an airtight tub in the fridge too

I use this product it's valuable to those of you who wish to reduce the amount of refined sugar in your diet. Be careful when using in recipes for the first time because it cam be overpowering if not used correctly. Try using it with recipes that ask for this product until you have got used to the taste. Good for you Low carber's/ Gi'ers.

Very good strong taste that may be hard to use in baking at first, as it doesn't sweeten as much as sugar, but has a much stronger taste.
