Make a white sauce with oatmilk, stir in a couple of tablespoons of the yeast flakes and you have a very tasty alternative to cheese sauce. It tastes great with spinach stirred through it too!

I was sceptical about this product until I tried it. It's got an almost cheesy flavour and works great as a topping on bakes etc. Only one tip - use sparingly as the taste can be very strong

Marigold Engevita Nurtitional Yeast Flakes are the only brand of nutritional yeast flakes available in the Uk and for that, I'm grateful. Nutritional yeast is important for vegans because they have slight traces of b12 which is the only nutrient that are hard to come by for vegans. That aside, it's yummy! As many have already discovered, it imparts a cheesiness to most things (especially tofu) but can be combine with other herbs for different flavors (try dried oregano, nutritional yeast and a pinch of salt and it tastes similar to chicken!). Lastly, price is a factor and although it is a little expensive, you won't need a lot and therefore, it'll be worth it in the long run.

Engevita yeast flakes are an excellent low-fat, low-calorie source of protein for vegans. It has a kind of cheesy, nutty flavour - I use it sprinkled on top of pasta dishes as a substitute for parmesan, mixed into vegan risottos just before serving and as a topping for stir-fries.

I can't believe how good this stuff is. I mix it with bread crumbs for breading veggies to grill/fry and add a tablespoonful when making bread for a richer taste. I absolutely love this product!

Another really good price for this product. Lovely cheesy flavour. Great addition to sauces.

This is amazing whether you're vegan or not, it's so tasty that it's quite addictive. It has a lovely cheesy flavour and is lovely on potatoes, popcorn, crackers, in sauces, pasta... anything really, even straight from the pot. Plus it's full of vitamins and minerals so does you some good too. I wish I discovered engevita earlier.

I would give this product 1000 stars if I could. Gives great flavour to a varity of dishes. I sprinkle it on salads, mix into mash or pasta dishes.. I gave up cheese and basically use this where ever I would have used cheese :)

I remember when a vegan friend first showed me engevita and I couldn't believe that she ate something that looked like fish food! And then I tasted it, wow!
It's fantastically versatile and packed full of B vitamins. I hadn't realised it was a complete protein (doh!).
I use it melted into margarine on a piece of lightly toasted bread (spread marg on the toast, sprinkle on engevita and put under the grill til the engevita looks 'melted' but not browned)
It's utterly delicious (my little one and my elderly grandmother both love it!) especially when topped with a piece of fried tofu (I went through a substitute fried egg phase a few years ago, and though this was rather nice!)In fact if you have sprinkle the engevita onto the marg spread bread and pan cook it (without oil)in a frying pan til the engevita melts into the bread.. mmmmmm..
It makes a smashing cheese sauce with a smidge of miso (google vegan cheese sauce or check out the uncheese cookbook) I use it to make peso with cashews, basil or parsley, miso, garlic and lemon juice and olive or rapeseed oil, and often have some vegan parmesan on the go (the classic blended up engevita, miso and cashews/sesame seeds again!)
Or just chuck it liberally over a red lentil sauce, or mmmm... must make some 'cheese' soup again, it's lovely! It goes a long way by the way, I'm constantly into mine and it still lasts me at least a couple of weeks unlike a block of 'cheese'. And you can use it for a lot more!
Ooooh, before I forget, it is utterly fantastic put into mashed potato, gives a really wonderful flavour

I do not know how I managed without Nutritional Yeast flakes. They are so easy and quick to use for a wide variety of snacks and meals, adding good nutrition, consistency and taste. I think they are an important part of a vegan diet and also recommend them for non-vegans.

Very nice and tasty, a good addition as a sprinkle condiment.

Excellent product. Delicious flavour, very versatile. Sprinkle on soup, salads, scrambled eggs. If you want a cheese sauce without the cheese, this is perfect. Definitely recommend.

This is great! I keep it on the kitchen table and my little ones always ask for 'nooch' on their pasta and veggies. I use it in a very wide variety of dishes. It's delicious and high in protein.
Also -- this is important -- the containers are HUGE! There is a lot of nooch in these and they are way bigger than I thought they would be. Yay! :D

Mmmm! I love these so much. I always have our cupboard stocked-they are so good in any savoury recipe. A mild cheesy flavour, blends well into sauces or great as a garnish. Sometimes I just dip veggies in them!

I always fall back on this product when I can't find the one with added zinc and B vitamins. This is equal in taste and multi-uses (sprinkling on top of food, used in light cooking, used to make sauces) and if it wasn't for the packaging most of my family wouldn't tell the difference between this and the other one. I always have one on standby!

A delicious cheesy flavoured yeast that can be added to raw and cooked foods giving that extra uplifting taste to variety of dishes.

I can't recommend nutritional yeast highly enough for providing me with some extra, much-needed energy! You can use this as a cheese alternative in pasta sauces, etc, but I love the taste so much I eat this by the spoonful throughout the day whenever I'm feeling tired or peckish.

An excellent source of chromium, vital for the efficient utilisation of insulin which regulates blood sugar levels and for energy production by carrying circulating blood glucose to the cells.

This is a vegan/dairy-free staple in my book. So versatile- use wherever cheese is called for, or make your own vegan cheese with it. Make sure you keep the lid on tightly so that the flakes remain crispy and not damp and stale (I like to have a tiny mesh bag of rice to put in mine if I know I won't be getting through it quickly.) Some stores I have bought/ordered nutritional yeast from have delivered clearly fairly old stock- where the flakes have indeed become damp and stale, however I have not had this problem with Goodness, and the price is comparable to the best alternative option you can find on the internet. It is nice to have the option of nutritional yeast B12 now, but I find since I religiously take my B12 vitamin and drink B12 supplemented non-dairy milks that I don't think it is worth the extra money for me.

I have read mixed reviews regarding nutritional yeast and I have to say I'm so glad I've introduced it into my cooking. Very versatile and very flavoursome.

Sprinkle these on everything in place of parmesan, taste good and have loads of nutrients.

This product may not need another fan but . . . it has one. Why?
First, it does provide a pleasing taste suggestive of cheese, which works great in a vast variety of dishes. I'm relatively new to the "nooch" (nutritional yeast) but so far have enjoyed adding it to vegetable bakes, popcorn, and sprinkled on top of grilled egg-plant, porto-bello mushrooms and peppers.
Second, high in protein, fibre, several vitamins and minerals AND gluten-free? Very few foods satisfy that checklist.
The packaging is also pleasing as it is a reasonably air-tight resealable container which can certainly be re-used for other storage once empty if one wished.

I bought these flakes for my hubbie who's gone vegan to make sure he gets a better balance of nutrition. He loves it sprinkled on food and as a drink and has asked to be kept supplied so I've continued buying more. It tastes good and the reference to using in place of parmesan is good advice.

This product adds a great addition to top a Vegan pizza in place of cheese.

My kids took a while to get used to this but eventually I got requests to put the "cheesy stuff" on everything! Tastes amazing on cooked veggies and with morning eggs :-) I did notice an improvement in my energy levels along with other changes I've made so I'm definitely keeping this one stocked up in the cupboard.

Thickens soups nicely and adds a bit on nutritional value to it. Smells a bit cheesy but is a cheesy/nutty flavour. Makes things a bit 'creamy'

I have found this product to greatly enhance the flavour of my cheese sauce when making Vegan recipes. Unfortunately I cannot buy it locally and had to find it online. Thoroughly recommend this.

Try tossing freshly popped popcorn with melted butter and a good sprinkling of yeast flakes.
