In general GoodnessDirect does have a policy to avoid certain E numbers or to flag where they occur. For example we try and totally avoid aspartame or GM ingredients.

We like to give our customers a choice rather than dictate and where we do include products with caramel for example it is because the product as a whole offers an alternative choice to a mass market product. In this case the Fentimans cola offers an alternative to Coca cola or pepsi. The Fentimans is a much finer product and we want to make it available for those who are looking for an alternative cola.

I hope this makes our position a little clearer?
