Cultivated in the Ardeche region of France by some 80 organic co-operatives and growers. The Ardeche is well known for its chestnut groves that were planted as far back as the 13th century. These organic chestnuts are picked from the beginning of September through to November, shelled by hand and then cooked. The Ardeche chestnut groves are the subject of a variety of regeneration and ecological projects as well as an A.O.C initiative that serves to emphasise a quality of origin.

Christmas time is great, and what could be better than these chestnuts (ready to use!). They work wonders in homemade stuffing, which is what I did this Christmas. Easy recipe, fantastic taste and texture!!
