Cooking Instructions

Stir 200ml of milk or water into 30g of porridge flakes, bring to the boil and simmer for 3-4 minutes, stirring constantly. Can alternatively be microwaved.

Ingredients

Rice flakes, millet flakes, agar-agar.

Energy 1516kJ/362kcal, Protein 8.5g, Carbohydrate 74.1g, Fat 3.0g.

Cautions

May contain traces of soya, sesame and nuts.

Suitable for vegetarians.

Recipe

Flapjacks:
227g / 8oz porridge flakes
170g / 6oz butter / margarine
85g / 3oz demerera sugar
85g / 3oz golden syrup

1. Put flakes and demerara sugar into mixing bowl
2. Melt butter and syrup together
3. Mix into flakes and sugar
4. Put mixture into a well greased tray
5. Press mixture down until smooth
6. Bake at gas mark 4 or 175°C or 350°F for 20 minutes or until golden brown
7. Allow to cool and then cut into fingers or squares

I would never eat any other porridge! They are quick and easy to make, I make them with sugar free soya milk and don't even add sugar and they still taste fab. My daughter has even taken to them, but with dairy milk and sugar. Well done... Barkat....
