Please don't buy Mock Duck if you have any sense! I tried it today and it was awful. Just my opinion I know.

Mock Duck is great. It's marvelous for making Chinese style dishes. Wicked with Hoi Sin and Sweet and Sour sauces. It's great hot or cold.

Only my opinion but give it a try.

I have been eating this product for years. Gluten takes on other flavours well. Drain the tin and then put into an oven dish with a mustard vinaigrette and plenty of chopped garlic and roast for 15 mins in hot oven.

I was really surprised how pleasant this Mock Duck turned out to be. I was pretty trepidatious at trying it but was really pleased with how it turned out in a black bean stiry fry I made. The consistency is just like duck - right down to the pimpled skin and it even flakes like the real thing. I thought the gravy it came in would be gloopy but it was quite thin - I didn't end up using it. The duck itself was tasty and savoury - will definitely be buying this again as a staple to always keep in the cupboard and try new recipes with - it would be great in pancakes.

Crispy - Sat 15th Dec 2007
Brush the mock duck with sesame oil and soy sauce and stick it in the oven for 20 minutes until crispy. Yummy.
