Nagata Organic Sencha is a premium quality Japanese green tea made from the season's first tender, young leaves, hand-harvested at their peak of flavour. By a unique Japanese process, the freshly picked leaves are briefly steamed to capture their complex flavour and emerald green colour, then rolled into thin curls and oven-dried. In Japan, Sencha is a prized tea served at high class restaurants and at home to make guests feel welcomed and honoured. At once mildly stimulating and soothing, Sencha has long been used by Zen monks to promote mental clarity and calmness during long meditations.

Warmly recommended. As far as green teas go, this one is my favourite so far, and I have tried a LOT!
First, it is loose, and, unlike teabags, it will not go bitter, however long you leave it to infuse. On the contrary, I find the longer it infuses, the better, and I sometimes leave it to stand for 30 odd minutes.
Second, green tea really is good for you, as long as you don't drink way too much of it.
Enjoy watching the leaves expand in hot water...

Clearspring Sencha Green tea is great to make a quick base for a stock or a gravy. Brew acup and let it stand for 5 minutes, and tip it all, leaves and all, in the pot or the plate. It gives a lovely taste to a broth or a gravy, for instance, is great to finish off a mixed bento, and the leaves add a great colour to the dish -they are lovely to eat and never, never go bitter.

A very refreshing green tea that never gets bitter. I drink it everyday and sometimes eat the leaves once I'm finished or add them to cooking.
