These succulent Kalamata olives are hand harvested just before ripening as they turn from golden green to light purple. This gives excellent and high quality oil. In fact, with no less than six awards under its belt, RAW Health Kalamata Extra Virgin Olive Oil, has to be the high-quality olive oil of choice this year. In August 2010 this certified raw and organic olive oil received its latest acclamation - a Gold at the Great Taste Awards 2010, organised by the Guild of Fine Food. Try making a fresh olive tapenade by blending pitted kalamata olives, chopped fresh garlic and a little kalamata olive oil.

Fantastic for pesto. Try a variation using rocket, walnuts, garlic, parmesan (optional), salt, pepper, olive oil and lemon juice. Just blend, adding enough olive oil to give your chosen consitency.

Somewhat paradoxically, olive oil can help you lose weight as the essential fatty acids help remove unwanted stored fat from the system. High vitamin E content makes this lovely oil powerfully anti-oxidant, strengthening the immune system and also lowering high cholesterol and hence blood pressure.
