A classic Chinese style curry paste which has a rich, slightly sweet flavour, balanced with Chinese spices.

Ingredients

Water, sugar, onion, vegetable oil, garlic purée, tomato purée 4%, curry powder 4%, (coriander, turmeric, cumin, salt, garlic, fenugreek, chilli, ginger, fennel, rice flour), light soy sauce 4% (water, salt, soya beans, roasted wheat, sugar), Chinese rice vinegar, Chinese five spice 2% (cinnamon, coriander, aniseed, ginger, fennel, clove, black pepper), salt, turmeric, modified maize starch, cumin, chilli powder, citric acid.

Recipe

Chinese Chicken Curry serves 2

1 tablespoon vegetable oil, ¼ jar of paste, 100ml vegetable or chicken stock, 1 small onion - peeled and cut into quarters, 2 chicken breasts - thinly sliced, 100g fresh or frozen peas.

1. Fry the onion with the oil and a pan until soft.
2. Add the paste and stock and mix them together.
3. Add the chicken and peas and then simmer until all of the ingredients are cooked.
Ensure piping hot and serve immediately with egg fried rice.
