Ingredients

Ingredients: Water, Sugar, Light Soy Sauce (7%) (Water, Salt, Soya Beans, Roasted Wheat, Sugar), Onion, Modified Maize Starch, Ginger purée (3%), Vegetable Oil, Garlic purée, Yeast Extract, Colour: Plain Caramel; Chinese Five Spice, Citric Acid, Chilli Powder.

Recipe

Chicken in Chow Mein Sauce
serves 4

3 chicken breasts - diced, 1 tablespoon vegetable oil. 1. Heat the oil in a pan, add the diced chicken and stir fry until the meat is sealed and browned (approx 5 minutes).
2. Pour over the jar of sauce and simmer for 10 minutes, stir occasionally. Ensure pipping hot and serve immediately.

A bit too much ginger! - Mon 7th May 2012
We personally did not like this sauce and found it very strong. Felt there was too much ginger making it seem very hot and obscuring any other flavours. In fact for me it got so bad that after a few mouthfuls I couldn't finish dinner, my mouth was tingling so bad like I had had something very spicy. To put this in perspective I'll happily eat mild to medium hotness dishes but found this was way above what I could and my husband (who likes hot dishes) struggled also. We personally would not buy this again or recommend.
