This bread is made for Biona by a family owned bakery in Munsterland, northeast Germany. Established in 1927 the bakery uses traditional artisan skills - freshly grinding the grains just before baking to create loaves packed with wholegrain goodness needed as part of a healthy diet.

Very nice indeed. It is already sliced and the slices are laid out one on top of another, so if (like me) you are tempted to slice it in the traditional way - you think it has all fallen to bits!

Filling and a little heavy, it has good taste and texture. Smashing with a nice cheese too.

Great treat bread while on my slow/low carb diet. Great tasted with poached egg for breakfast.

One of my favourite of the Biona rye breads - moist, tasty and a bit easier to toast than some of the other varieties. The pumpkin flavour is recognizable, but not overpowering.
