Big Oz Organic specialises in processing grains using traditional puffing, flaking and coating systems. Morning Puffs breakfast cereals are puffed and flaked using freshly harvested grains. The Big Oz range includes ten varieties which are free from added salt, sugars, artificial flavours and colours. They contain only the natural grain with nothing else added, and are naturally cholesterol and sodium free and low in saturated fat.

After harvesting, these pure grain cereals are puffed by a special process to produce a 'puff ball' which preserves the original shape of the grain, and helps to maintain maximum nutrition. The process also roasts the grains, which helps with digestion and gives them a delicious toasted flavour.

Big Oz select only first class whole grains which have been organically grown for their range of 'Morning Puffs' breakfast cereals. The outer husk is removed and they puff the grains by heating them to a very high temperature inside a sealed drum. This special process produces a 'puff ball,' helping to preserve the original shape of the grain and to maintain maximum nutritional content. It also gives the grain a delicious roasted flavour.

Big Oz's puffed cereals are all gluten-free and include rice, millet, amaranth, corn, buckwheat and quinoa, whilst the puffs that are gluten-types are rye, spelt, wheat, oats and barley.

Big Oz's flakes are also made using a traditional method of heating the raw grains to soften them, then just rolling the grains until they are flat. They pack and dispatch the flakes to their customers shortly after production, with the aim of having the freshest possible product for the consumer.

Serving Suggestion

Soak in hot or cold milk or fruit juice.

I enjoy Big Oz breakfast cereal and in particular the Millet Puffs.

Lovely nutty taste and great texture. They are slightly chewy, but soften with milk to form the perfect texture for eating! The cereal smells good too and is particularly nice with soya milk sweetened or original.

I also find it remarkably filling and it seems to give a good long term energy boost.

Even better: completely gluten free!

Brilliant for a light breakfast or fab for a gluten free snack. Good for mixing with millet oats to make crispy cakes or flapjack too.

Very healthy start to the day with these, plus they fill you up for ages, unlike mainstream cereals. So if you're not so keen on porridge, but want a filling start to the day, these are for you.

We make our own style healthy breakfast muesli with Big Oz millet and buckwheat puffs, Goodness Direct coconut flakes and mixed dried fruit. It's delicious with soya milk, very wholesome, filling and good for the waistline!
