Billington's Unrefined Molasses Cane Sugar 500g
Natural unrefined molasses sugarAverage Reviews Customer Reviews Write Review
Billington's natural molasses sugar is carefully produced to lock in rather then refine out the natural molasses of the sugar cane. It is this difference which gives Billington's sugar it's unique richness, depth of flavour and natural colour.
A beautifully rich dark sugar, superb in rich Christmas cakes and puddings as well as dark chocolate cakes and sticky BBQ sauce.

Store in an air tight container. In certain weather conditions this natural sugar may harden. This is not a sign of deterioration. Just place the sugar in a basin and cover with a damp cloth. Leave overnight and the moistness will return.

Beautiful for any baking although it comes out in big sticky chunks so I usually break them down in a suribachi to ensure harmoneous results!Reviewer's Name:

I love this molasses sugar, it comes as a block but is actually very soft and breaks/crumbles very easily to the touch. Its sweetness is subtle yet warm and leaves a lingering 'mmm' feeling on the tongue, its not overpowering and has a lovely enticing scent. I use this tea and porridge.Reviewer's Name:

This is so nice in porridge, so much more than a sweetener, it adds a delicious, lingering flavour. Also great for fruit loaves, it gives that same depth of flavour.Reviewer's Name:

Molasses is my all time favourite type of sugar - it's rich, warm, wholesome and the sweetness is delicate yet strong at the same time, a wonderful balance of nutrition and taste! Billington's is one of my favourites and I use this sugar as my personal indulgence in everything from milk tea to smoothies, cookies to fruit bread.Reviewer's Name:

I always use this product instead of using ordinary sugar when activating yeast. Simply melt in boiling water, stirring well, allow to cool until nice and warm, not hot and then stir in fresh or dried yeast. The yeast will bubble and grow in the jug, add to your bread bowl and mix with the other ingredients. It turns the bread a lovely colour and is far nicer than ordinary sugar as far as taste is concerned.Reviewer's Name:
