If you are wanting to avoid gluten but don't want to avoid pasta this buckwheat pasta from Orgran could well be the answer. The texture is really good and it is suitable for use anywhere where pasta is mentioned in a recipe.

Serving Suggestion

Serve hot with your favourite condiment or sauce. Great for summer salads. Makes a great Pizzoccheri.

Cooking Instructions

Cook the pasta in boiling water for 6-10 minutes or until tender. Strain and rinse thoroughly under warm running water.

This buckwheat pasta is delicious and holds it's shape well. It's a bit like having wholewheat pasta as it has a bit more texture than say rice pasta so makes a nice change. Being buckwheat it does have a bit of a greyish tinge to it once cooked but with pasta sauce on it that's not a worry.
Very tasty indeed!

I'm so impressed with this pasta. I had worried it would taste too powerfully of buckwheat but the flavour is actually quite mild, almost like whole wheat pasta. It cooks well, with a proper texture - so many gluten-free pastas seem to go mushy.
