The press is located in Southern Córdoba, in the middle of Natural Park of Sub-bética. This is the highest area in Córdoba, being olive lands of more than 700 metres height. These special growing conditions, in addition to our special climate, make our olive oil "unique" in Spain.
Our crop starts at the beginning of November when the olives are been picked at their exact point of maturity, and daily delivered to our milling facilities.
Upon reception the olives are sorted and graded and sent to one of our milling lines, the production process starts in the same day olives have been collected. Together with our up-to-date technology and skilled technical team, we ensure a premium quality olive oil.
Later on, olive oil is sent to our tanks, where it is stored under the best conditions until bottling is needed.

My test for a good olive oil is to pour some on a piece of fresh or toasted bread with a sprinkle of rock salt. Although the flavour of Oro Del Meditteráneo is not as strong and pungent as something like Nunez De Prado it really is nice. Its subtle and light but definitely noticeable and not at all bitter. Some more expensive products can be a little overbearing for everyday use because the flavour is so powerful and its a crime to use them for cooking, they should be consumed raw. Oro Del Meditteráneo on the other hand is a versatile winner, cooking with it works extremely well. It also has a pleasant light golden colour as the name suggests. At £28.50 for 5L from Goodness Direct you could do a lot worse. So far the cheapest genuinely organic extra virgin olive oil I have been able to find online that is available in the UK. The only draw back was the picking and sending of my order was slow and delivery took five days.Reviewer's Name:
