Other Information

The dried, kidney-shaped seed of the annual 'Papaver somniferum'. The seeds are very small in size, slate blue in colour and are nut-like in flavour.

Recipe

Poppy Seed Dressing: 1tsp honey, 1/2tsp dry mustard, 1/2tsp paprika, 1/4tsp garlic powder, 1/2tsp poppy seeds, dash of ground ginger, 1/4 cup of orange juice, 1/4 cup of mayonnaise. Combine ingredients in a jar and shake well.

For some reason poppyseeds seem ridicously hard to find in supermarkets. I like making Lemon poppyseed cakes, and sprinkling on homemade bread

Excellent quality and value. Very prompt delivery. We put these with fruit and yogurt for healthy pudding. Also mixed with other seeds in bread. Delicious.
