Serving Suggestion
Naturally gluten free, brown rice flour is best combined with other flours to avoid a grainy texture. Use to thicken soup by first making a paste and slowly adding to hot soup, before before bringing to the boil and simmering for 2-3 mins. Rice flour can be used to thicken any soups, stews or sauces in the same way.

How to make Gluten free self raiding flour from ri - Thu 23rd Jul 2009
Rice flour on it's own is not a good wheat flour substitute, but if combined with other wheat-free flours it can give a very pleasing result:
Try this mix to replace self raising flour in a recipe:
4 tbsp potato flour plus
270 g rice flour
1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
1 tbsp cream of tartar
1 tbsp xanthan gum
