I like to mix these with raisins, muscovado sugar, and coconut oil and melt everything on the stove for a few minutes. It's great on top of some puff (or any other kind of ) pastry as a tasty canapé.

Walnut, Pear & Goats Cheese Salad - Fri 1st Jul 2011
Toast the walnuts gently in 3 tbsp grapeseed oil. Lift with a slotted spoon and drain on kitchen paper. Reserve the oil. Cut 2 juicy pears into wedges, squeeze over 1/2 lemon and mix gently. Place some mixed leaves in a serving bowl, add the pears and their juice, the walnuts and their oil and crumble over some goats cheese. Toss gently before serving.
