I love this product. I have used thes on my low carb/slow carb diet. They are high gi but when used with other things in recipes they enable recipes to be made without sugar. I make a chocolate substitute bar that is just minced dates and strong coco powder.

I've never been a big fan of 'Date as Snack' - you know, the fluff covered sticky boxes left over from Christmas....but I've recently discovered a range of uses; smushed up with nuts in Larabars and Nakd snack bars; mixed into minced lamb with ground spices to make beautifully fragrant kebabs and burgers, and most joyful of all - they make an extraordinary substitute for both fat and sugar in homemade (and comparatively healthy!) cakes - try with various flours, walnuts and a couple of eggs to make a moist, rich and not too sweet loafcake....am planning to ring the changes with various flavourings, including cinnamon, ground ginger, coconut, unsweetened cocoa and almonds. These pitted dates are absolutely perfect, making the process much faster and less fiddly.
