Not as good as the Iranian dates - Wed 10th Mar 2010
I received these dates today after recently reaching the end of a 10kg box of Iranian dates I purchased from Goodness Direct last August. I found these to have an inferior, slightly plasticy taste, and to be drier (even though the dates I had just finished were several months old). While I will continue using these Pakistani sourced dates, I will not buy them again. In my opinion the small price difference between these and the other variety does not justify the relatively large difference in percieved quality.

Delicious Dates! - Tue 23rd Aug 2011
We've ordered these dates twice now. They are so delicious and soft and it's such a bargain! You might think 10kg of dates may seem excessive, but it really isn't -- they keep for ages and are great on their own as well as in desserts and scones.
Here's a quick recipe for date scones:
Mix 2 tbsp sugar and 1/4-1/2 cup chopped dates into 2 cups of self-raising flour. Add 4 tbsp sunflower oil (any neutral flavoured oil will do) and incorporate well. Stir in about 3/4 of a cup of soy/rice/coconut/oat/whatever-milk.
Roll out the dough and cut into 12 pieces. Bake on an ungreased tray in a preheated oven at 225 celsius for 10-12 minutes (the tops will be a light golden brown).

Sayer Dates - Fri 17th Feb 2012
I couldn't be happier with my big box of dates!
I bought them to soak and blend up in green smoothies, at the price I wasn't sure if they'd be good eaters on their own - but they are GORGEOUS... They are partially dried and really dense, eating them is like chewing a delicious toffee, they're not dry in the mouth and they have almost a liquorice toffee taste. I ate 20 as soon as the box was open :)
Great value for money, will be purchasing again!
