Product Details

Pearl barley flakes are grains of hulled barley that have been steamed and then rolled. Good as an ingredient of muesli.

Serving Suggestion

Can be used like oats or added to soups.

Usage

Keep in a cool dry place out of direct sunlight. Once opened, store in an airtight container.

Other Information

Originating in the East, Barley Flakes are rolled and usually slightly toasted. Adds a slight sweetness to any recipe that requires flakes - biscuits, bakes or puddings. Barley Flakes can be eaten raw, as in muesli, cooked to make a barley porridge, baked into flapjacks and biscuits or used as part of a topping - ie in savoury crumbles.

Lovely grain. I mixed them with some sprouted oats, simmered for 3 mins and added a dollop of honey :)

We use these barley flakes in our homemade breakfast mix along with dried fruit and soya milk. Delicious! Goodness Barley Flakes are good quality and have a nice flavour. Would highly recommend them.
