Product DetailsServing SuggestionUse pinto beans in chili recipes in place of kidney beans. They have a hearty flavor and are popular as baked beans and in bean salads. Cooking InstructionsTo shorten cooking time and make them easier to digest, pinto beans should be presoaked. Method 1: boil the beans for two minutes and then leave to soak for 2 hours. Method 2: Soak overnight (approx 8 hours) in water, place in the fridge to to avoid any fermentation. Before cooking discard soaking water. Simmer for approx 2 hours until tender. Season only after cooking to avoid making the skins tough. IngredientsJust pinto beans and nothing else. Other InformationPinto beans have a beige background with reddish brown splashes of colour. 'Pinto' means painted in Spanish! When cooked, their colored splotches disappear and they become a beautiful pink colour.
