It was this concern, 21 years ago, that saw the creation of Natracare certified organic 100% cotton tampons and organic and natural pads and liners by lifetime environmentalist and humanitarian, Susie Hewson. Shocked and angered by the use of chlorine bleached, synthetic fibres to make tampons, processes which exposed women and the environment to toxic dioxin from the bleaching and heavy metal residuals from the dyes used to make the strings pink or blue, Natracare started a small revolution that has since developed into a real option for concerned women all around the world.
