What is Rice Dream?Rice Dream is a pleasant-tasting low-fat drink made from rice. It is light and refreshing, with a flavour that appeals to the whole family. In conjunction with a healthy and balanced diet, the Rice Dream vegetable drinks can be used in different ways: they can be drunk cold from a glass or taken with your favourite cereals at breakfast. Rice Dream can also be used in place of low-fat milk in tea, coffee and other drinks, desserts, baking, soups and sauces. The Natural Goodness of RiceOne of the least allergenic of all foods, rice has long been a staple for many peoples around the world. Rice Dream is also a source of easily digestible complex carbohydrates coming from rice starch. It combines very well with breakfast cereals and can be enjoyed by people who find milk difficult to tolerate. What are the Benefits of Rice Dream?
Rice Dream is ideal for those who cannot tolerate lactose or milk proteins. It is also the natural choice for people who prefer to avoid or cut down on animal products. Rice Dream is also increasingly the informed choice of proactive people seeking a healthier lifestyle. And many people switch to Rice Dream simply because it tastes good! Rice Dream is low in fat and saturates and also contains no cholesterol. So, Rice Dream is ideal for today's health-conscious diet. The mildly sweet taste of Rice Dream comes from the natural sugars in the rice itself. The rice starch is partially broken down into sugars - primarily maltodextrin - by the action of natural enzymes, in a process that is very similar to that which occurs during the digestion of cereals in the body. Most children find the taste of Rice Dream immediately pleasing. It is suitable as an occasional drink for infants from six months on, but it must be remembered that, like all rice and soy drinks, Rice Dream is not a nutritional substitute for milk. Rice Dream does not replace milk and cannot be used alone as a formula for infants, for whom mother's milk is the best food. The rice and oil seeds used to produce Rice Dream are certified organically grown (except Rice Dream with Added Calcium). Organic farming methods work in harmony with natural systems to promote the fertility of the soil and to produce foods taht are healthy, vital and full of flavour. All the ingredients in Rice Dream are gluten free. It is possible, however, that the finished product may contain minute residual traces of barley protein from an enzyme used during processing. The enzyme is derived from barley, and although the amount of gluten involved is very small - less than 20 parts per million - those with extreme gluten sensitivity are advised to consult their health care practioner about the suitability of Rice Dream for them.
